CNBC Europe Selects IdeasUnlimited.tv for Recording
Compliance and Multi-User Browse Access
News Leader Uses ContentProbe for Automated Digital Recording

The leading pan-European financial and business TV channel CNBC Europe is using ContentProbe from IdasUnlimited.tv for next-generation compliance recording and multi-user browse access. The revolutionary, flexible, automated digital recording solution retains CNBC Europe’s transmitted programmes from six channels for 90 days, in accordance with Ofcom regulations.

Each compact 1U ContentProbe replaces CNBC Europe’s legacy system and automatically records and stores two channels of programmes digitally. Crucially, its flexible frame-accurate retrieval functionality eliminates time wasted on selecting programmes in time-blocks and shuttling backwards and forwards.

The solution stores content internally and enables all authorised users to easily browse transmitted content using an intuitive user interface. The latest generation of hard drives in a full RAID 5 configuration supports hot-swap and provides high levels of resilience and reliability.

“CNBC Europe’s staff at remote locations now have all broadcast content at their fingertips so they can find the footage they need for themselves rather than involving the operations team,” says CNBC Europe’s head of technology, Neil Burt. “In addition, by storing two channels for around the same price as one, it saves considerable money.”

“CNBC Europe is the fastest-growing pan-European channel so its need for reliable compliance recording and immediate content access has never been greater,” says founder and MD of IdeasUnlimited.tv Glyn Powell-Evans. “Its adoption of ContentProbe is testament to this remarkable growth and provides a reliable, cost-effective solution as it continues to expand.”
