News Leader Uses ContentProbe for Automated Digital Recording
The world’s largest independent news organisation ITN chose ContentProbe from IdeasUnlimited.tv for compliance recording. ITN implemented the revolutionary automated digital recording and storage solution to retain its transmitted programmes for 90 days, in accordance with Ofcom regulations.
ContentProbe automatically records broadcast programmes in real time and stores them digitally to dramatically reduce the time spend manually labelling and archiving VHS tapes. Storing up to 720 days’ content in a single 1RU device, it also eliminates the space wasted on housing typically 540 tapes.
The solution uses internal RAID 5 storage and hot-swappable drives for extra reliability and authorised users can easily browse transmitted content from their desktops.
