IdeasUnlimited.tv Delivers Automated Content Monitoring for Channel Switching to MTV Networks Europe
IdeasUnlimited.tv is breaking new ground at MTV
Networks Europe with a totally new method of channel switching using
automated content monitoring. The leading music broadcaster is using
specially tailored MediaFingerprinting software from IdeasUnlimited.tv
to recognise a graphic prompt to switch from MTV to Nickelodeon in
Amsterdam.
Using the patented MediaFingerprinting, MTV Europe’s system monitors all content for a pre-defined and registered graphic and switches output when it occurs. IdeasUnlimited.tv custom built the solution based on its FaultTracker system, part of its flagship ContentProbe family.
While FaultTracker more commonly provides alerts to problems such as colour bars and frozen video, IdeasUnlimited.tv applied the proven system to create an efficient, unattended operation that solved an operational problem for MTV Europe.
“For the first time, we have a foolproof, automated system for the switching of our international output,” explains MTV Europe’s Duncan Goddard. “IdeasUnlimited.tv’s ContentProbe saves us valuable staff time and enables us to operate channel-switching directly from the scheduled programming, based purely on picture-content.”
