ContentProbe, a range of software and hardware video loggers for low cost compliance recording, monitoring and verification of TV and radio signals. What is Media FingerPrinting?
Media Fingerprinting is a technique for the rapid and efficient indexing and subsequent identification of video, audio and still images using a unique “Media FingerPrint”.
Once captured, the Media FingerPrint can be used to verify or identify automatically a video clip or still image even if the quality or format has changed considerably from the original. This makes the process suitable for the verification and identification of media from a wide range of sources, including video that is streamed over the Internet.
Most importantly, Media FingerPrinting is non-invasive, as the FingerPrint is not encoded into the image. Media FingerPrinting is immune to standards conversion, aspect ratio conversion, re-colouring and severe bandwidth reduction. It will even detect media that has been cropped or has had new captions or logos superimposed at transmission.
The Media FingerPrints are reliably matched within a second or so, and where an exact match is not available, a selection of best matches may be obtained. This technology is used in our signal verification and commercials verification product called AdCert for giving proof of transmission of commercials. This can be done in the format of an exported database file or a detailed PDF report of all commercial aired, title, aired time, channel and desccription of any transmission problems. Download the AdCert brochure for more details.
